Featured in the gala concert were Metropolitan Opera legend, Lucine Amara, a veteran of over 800 performances at the Met including five opening nights; Mark Watson, a singer who has performed in Japan, Italy, Israel and across the country in operas, musicals and concerts; the charming, 50-voice New Jersey Youth Chorus made of talented young singers from around the state, directed by Patricia Joyce; Indian singer and tambura player Dr. Preeti Saraiya and tabla player Jayesh Saraiya; violinist Jonathan Roberts; the lush-voiced Armenian singer, Maro Partamian, who has sung all across North and South America, Russia, Europe and the Middle East; Shakespearean actor and former leading artist with the prestigious Stratford Festival in Canada, Craig Dudley; pianist Lloyd Arriola; and the thrilling voice of Evelyn LaQuaif from New York City all of whom are donating their talents for this special cause. The program was a musical banquet of Broadway songs, operetta and international favorites featuring selections from Showboat, Camelot, the beautiful Meditation from Thaïs, and spiritually uplifting songs sung in English, French Italian, Hebrew, Japanese, Armenian and Hindi. |
