This precious, one-year-old little girl is the daughter of Haridas. The family comes from Kodungalloor Thalook in the Thrissur District. She had been ill for nine months, and her family was not able to get treatment for her at any of the hospitals they visited. The surgery she received at AIMS, sponsored by Hearts Across the Ocean, is called "Correction of tetralogy of Fallot". The baby's father,Haridas, is able to make a meager living selling lottery tickets. Sadly, some days the sales are slow. On those days, his family goes without food. One of his legs is partially paralyzed and he cannot walk long distances. His wife does not work at all. His sorrows are worsened by the plight of his other daughter who is also sick. He cannot even afford to buy her medicine much less pay a few hundred dollars for his new baby's surgery. We hope to have more information about this family and an update on the daughter's condition in the coming weeks.
